When using red units then it's hard to distinguish them from enemy units in campaign on minimap #1799

resolution_Needs reevaluating for current version (3.2.3) type_bug | by Emdek

All units and structures, both own and enemy are marked with the same color, which can lead to confusion, especially if our units are inside enemy base etc.

Maybe it could be changed for campaign only to always mark own units using green or another neutral color.

Try using friend-foe-colours.

Try using friend-foe-colours.
Yeah, thats work. :-)
Maybe it should be default, at least for campaign?

Well that is why the default colour is green not red.

LOL!
I don't see how they can fix it besides making players not choose red.

For example set by default friend-foe-colours for campaign or use different tints in case if colors are the same.

Discussion in the forums just raised this issue again, but also potential issues with cyan and pink (used by scav factions in cam) as player can choose those colours also.

Maybe easiest choice would be to alter colour choices available in the game options menu so that the player can only choose colours that are not used by any faction in the campaign?

Here's what's used in cam1-3:

A list of the colours currently defined in palette.txt can be found here.

7 factions need exclusive colours in the cams, there are a total of 16 colours available - so player can have decent choice, just not those in the pic above.

Clarifying this will also help people developing new campaigns to know which colours they can safely use for the enemy factions.

I see only two real solutions for that, by default enable friend-foe-colors (as Kreuvf suggested as workaround) or do not let change unit color (but that has drawbacks, red ones are really much more visible on map - only not on minimap) as do not letting to use them would limit selection to only two options. :-D

Can't reproduce this, the enemy doesn't look red to me. Maybe it was fixed.
