I try to be as detailed as possible, hopefully you may be able to reproduce what causes the savegame-errors.

First I start with my new system:

Operating System:

MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1

CPU:

Intel Core i7 2600 @ 3.40GHz; Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology

RAM:

8,00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3

Motherboard:

ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8P67 REV 3.1 (LGA1155)

Graphic Card:

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7950 3GB OC GDDR5

AMD Catalyst™ 12.2 Pre-Certified Driver (http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/catalyst122precertifieddriver.aspx)

Monitor:

ASUS VE278 (1920x1080@60Hz)

Sound:

Creative X-Fi Audio Processor (WDM); Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer

Now coming to the game I played:

As usual I played on Sk-Sand-Castles-T1, starting on position 0.

I played against 7 Nexus-AIs, set to easy. All vs. All. Scavengers turned off.

High energy, bases turned off.

Laser-Satellite Command-Center turned off, all other buildings turned on.

I started by building two factories, producing 5 trucks at all. After building the factories I used my two starting trucks for building a HQ, after that a research facility, then two power generators, 4 more research facilities.
The other trucks being produced I used to build 8 oil-derricks, 4 in my base and the 4 being on the platforms around my base.

I left a truck at every oil-derrick for building an MG-Tower right beside it.

I started by researching MG´s, then MG-Towers. After that I researched construction plans, sensors and the weapon upgrades coming up.

When finished I researched engine 1 to get to the power generator, as well as hardcrete, hardgate later on, light gun, upgrades for MG, sensor tower and the command center. And tank-barriers.

After ~8 Minutes I saved the game to see if loading a saved game works.

It fails... Now I am here :D

I didn´t get to build any other tanks, nor designing one.
As well as no droids (not researched yet).

After 8 Minutes I saved the game and quit Warzone. Counting to 10, then starting the game again and trying to load the saved game.

While loading the screen turned black, only my mouse being visible.

When executing the task-manager my desktop returns and I could take two screenshots (attached to this ticket).

There also are two(!) log-files. One from playing the game itself until saving (called log_1):

BUT there is no .rpt-file or stdrr.txt =/

Whether in my documents nor in the install-directory...

One thing I want to mention in the end:

I never use any mods.

Note: The file "stderr.txt" might be located in "C:\Users*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Warzone 2100". However there is none for beta4.

Replying to Warzone2100/old-trac-import#3235 (comment:2):

It doesnt happen right from the start of a game, but not too long after.
I managed to produce a working and non-working savegame on a custom map.

The differences between the savegames seem quite large, and the first savegame is basically just the start. Can you try to reproduce the problem, save often while doing so, and then upload the latest savegame that works, and instructions on how to reproduce the problem ("wait five seconds and save again" would be nice)? So far everything I've tried resulted in non-broken savegames...
