Ignoring the fact I dislike closing splash screens and only associate them with demos and shareware, the one you have doesn't display properly when the setting is widescreen. I lose the top of the text of "Thanks for playing".
It's fine if I change to non-widescreen.

Well, it is hardcoded for 4:3 in 87ac6bba6bcce48bffed73c58ecdee56051a0809

I guess we can do this hack...

Remove end game credits screen on quit

It was not used for much, and as one bug submitter put
it: "I dislike closing splash screens and only associate
them with demos and shareware". And our current one does
show very well on widescreen monitors, apparently.
