keyword_pre-game_localhost resolution_Requesting more information about issue type_bug | by Snoogy

While running two instances of WZ on the same machine I almost always am unable to connect to a game hosted by one of the instances. In the rare case that I am able to connect then the server locks up for half a dozen or more seconds whenever the client or the host make changes to the pre-game settings (name, color, etc).

Connecting two instances on the same machine works fine in 2.3.9

No problems in-game, only in the pre-game lobby.

Extremely high ping as evidence of the server locking up on a localhost hosted game

How are you connecting exactly ? Via IP or are you using lobby ?

I am connecting via IP, typing in exactly 127.0.0.1

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I tested hosting and joining a match while disconnected from the internet and I did not suffer the same bug, so now I have a work around.

My thoughts are that it's trying to contact the lobby but conflicts with the other instance and times out.

Further testing resulted in a re-diagnosis of the bug: Locks up as stated above any time settings are changed in the pregame lobby when the host hasn't port forwarded.

Odd, I can't replicate this.

Try this, in your config file, change the lobby to be 127.0.0.1, then host a game, and then connect your client.

See if it still happens.
