Most player not read forums or visit IRC, the only source of information for them is lobby. Again in most case players ignore MOTD or they cant read/know english. So far the the lobby page shows games hosted only for current version due to filter enabled by default. From my point of view, it make switching to newer version much slower. It would be nice if lobby shows games hosted by newer versions too.

The only way we have to communicate with people is the MOTD.
People need to click the filter icon to see "other" games that don't match their version.
We can't disable the filter, since that is client side, and thus, nothing that we can do.
