Enable Cheat Mode in Windows & Linux

Step 1. Start the game with the "--cheat" command line option. Step 1 can be skipped if you are using 2.3 beta 6 or newer.

Step 2. During gameplay, press "left shift" and "backspace" simultaneously.

This should result in a message "Cheats enabled".

If it doesn't, you are probably using an old keymap and should reset it.

Enable Cheat Mode in Mac OS X

Version 2.1 and newer

Either do this:

1. Navigate to the "config" file located in: "Users/(User Home Directory)/Library/Application Support/Warzone 2100" —> config. Replace (User Home Directory) with the name of your home directory.
2. Make a backup of this file. Right or Control click and go to "Duplicate".
3. Now right click on the original file and go to "open with" –> Text Edit.
4. Find the line that says "debugmode=0".
5. Change "0" to "1". It should now look like this: "debugmode=1"
6. Save the file.
7. Start Warzone
8. While a game has started, hold down Shift+Backspace.
9. Press Return on the keyboard to enter chat mode. Type in the cheat codes and hit Return.

(Steps 1-6 can be skipped if you are using 2.3 beta 6 or newer.)

Or this:

1. Open Terminal.app
2. Type (without quotes) "/Applications/Warzone.app/Contents/MacOS/Warzone --cheat", hit Return to start the game
3. While a game has started, hold down Shift+Backspace.
4. Press Return on the keyboard to enter chat mode. Type in the cheat codes and hit Return.

Resetting Your Keymap

If you have changed your keymap, the keyboard shortcuts may not work correctly. To reset your keymap back to defaults:

1. Go to "Options" in the main menu.
2. Select "Key Mappings".
3. Then click on the trash can in the top left.

Cheat codes do not work in multiplayer games! One-player skirmish is not considered multiplayer.

All these cheats can be entered as chat text. Enable cheat mode, then press Enter, type the code, and press Enter again.

Some of them CAN, and WILL break the game. We can't stress that enough.

Strength & Damage
biffer baker	Your units are stronger & deal more damage (replaces previous difficulty)
double up	Your units are twice as strong (replaces previous difficulty)
get off my land	Kills all visible enemy units & structures on the map
kill	Kills the selected units/structures
reload me	Immediately reloads currently selected unit/structure
Weather
deity	Lets you see everything on the map (equivalent of having Uplink Center)
john kettley	Changes the weather to rain, snow, or clear. Keep entering code to cycle weather.

✓ = Can cause game-play instability.

Additional Cheats

A number of new keys are also available in the debug/cheat mode. These can cause game-play instability!

• k Flips the tile height.
• w or a Raises or lowers the tile height.
• y Demo Mode. Selects the team closest to the camera to start out with. The camera view will then randomly change from unit to unit & team to team. Your team will have an AI applied to it when selected. Same as the demo cheat.
• ctrl+o Opens up an options dialog that allows you to place units, structures, & features in game. Also allows you to switch to & take control of an enemy AI team.
• ctrl+y Shows the game info & stats. Same as the timedemo cheat.
• ctrl+x Completes all currently active research. Same as the work harder cheat.

New in 2.3 beta 6

You no longer need to go into the terminal or mess with command line options. Instead, cheats can be turned on simply by using the cheat code "cheat on".
